Dozens of tech organizations, in coordination with the Digital Council of Thailand (DCT) and the Medical Council of Thailand (TMC), have committed to providing digital solutions and infrastructure as they join the effort to fight against the Covid-19 pandemic.
DCT Chairman Suphachai Chearavanont said digital technology can play a huge role in handling the third wave of the pandemic. The use of technology will help minimize the risk of infection among medical staff, support communication between field hospitals and mitigate the impact of the crisis.
He said assistance is focused on “Smart Field Hospital” solutions specifically designed for field hospitals. They include smart devices, patient monitoring and registration systems, planning and communication systems, information and content sharing systems, environmental and facility monitoring systems, as well as ‘a digital infrastructure.
Meanwhile, TMC General Secretary Ittaporn Kanacharoen said a shortage of medical staff in field hospitals could make the technologies needed to treat the growing number of patients and streamline operations. (NNT)
