The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) is pleased to announce that Bangkok has been ranked the second best city in the world and the best city in Asia for digital nomads, in a new study by the UK flexible working solutions provider The Instant Group.

Second in the world after Lisbon, Portugal, in the world ranking of 80 cities for digital nomads, Bangkok performed well in the key areas of affordability, weather, broadband speed, landscapes and transports.

Research has shown that there are already 35 million digital nomads worldwide, and with advances in technology, remote working and workplace culture, it is believed that by 2035 that number could reach a billion. Forecasts indicate that the global mobile workforce will account for one in three employees.
Besides Bangkok, Thailand also offers other popular destinations ideal for digital nomads, such as Phuket, Samui, and Chiang Mai.
